Elective ultrasounds are for entertainment only and are not a diagnostic test, and will not be read by a board-certified radiologist for medical interpretation.

Diagnostic ultrasounds are read by a board-certified radiologist, and a medical diagnosis will be sent to your primary obstetrician or midwife for follow-up care.
If you are experiencing an emergency, please dial 911 or go to your closest emergency department.

According to the AIUM (gold standard in ultrasound safety), it is not a safe or ethical practice to listen to the fetal heartbeat with ultrasound in the first trimester. I take these guidelines very seriously; therefore, I do not perform spectral doppler (listening to the fetal heartbeat) on a fetus less than 14 weeks of gestational age. I put you and your baby’s safety and well-being first, at all times. *We will obtain a safe m-mode tracing of the baby’s heartbeat, which will give us a heart rate.

Uncooperative Fetus – Every ultrasound experience is unique, and baby’s position can change at any time. While we are often able to obtain great images, positioning is outside of our control and some views may be limited. Because your appointment time and service are fully provided, refunds are not offered for fetal positioning or limited views.

Cancellation of an appointment is required 24 hours in advance, or a refund will not be issued.
